It probably didnāt get brought up as much in the movie because A. Hollywood has a long history of pairing younger women with older men, so it definitely wouldn't want to start calling itself out. And B. The woman who plays Knives is 3 years older than Michael Cera, because Hollywood also has a long history of casting 25 year olds as high schoolers.

Scott is like that one friend everybody has. You like hanging out with him in the moment because of the cool stuff he does and then heāll do or say something way out of left field that makes you go āwow youāre kind of a huge piece of shitā but they are still your friend after that.

So the relationship will enviable end with a crushing sense of wrong on Knives end, wondering what she did wrong when Scott just wasnt really wanting a true relationship. And with her being in that transitional peroid in her life from "kid" to legal adult, its another thing to slap her with that would cause more stress for no reason

The whole point of the story is that Scott is a terrible person who runs away from his issues, thus the existence of Dark Scott. Him dating someone who is barely the legal age in his country, and still in school, is a very scummy trait.
I like the ending of the comic when he and Ramona both decide to improve themselves with each other.

The entire point of the series, beyond the action and bizarre elements, is about the growth of Ramona and Scott. Despite being protagonist, they aren't exactly in the right and that they still have flaws that they need to work on just like everyone else.

That's the thing when something like this becomes worldwide it is open to alot of opinions and interpretations for me when I saw the show I didn't give a damn if that was who he was dating even by experience of some friends of mine and others in my high school dated outside from their pool some of who (mainly the girls) took theirs to the formal (which you yanks would call a prom but alot more public) but when they walked down the red carpet infront of the public and having their pics taken so they can be on the local newspaper etc. no one batted an eye
