Released on September 20, 1976, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was AC/DC’s third studio album and a defining moment in the Bon Scott era. With its gritty riffs, cheeky humor, and street-tough attitude, the record captured the band at their most rebellious and unapologetic.

Built on Angus Young’s blistering guitar leads, Malcolm Young’s crushing rhythm, Phil Rudd’s steady groove, Mark Evans’ bass, and Bon Scott’s mischievous snarl, the album delivered some of AC/DC’s most enduring classics. The title track became an anthem of mischief and menace, while “Problem Child,” “Big Balls,” and the haunting ballad “Ride On” showed both their heavier and more playful sides.

Though originally released only in Australia and parts of Europe, the album finally saw its U.S. release in 1981—by then, AC/DC were global superstars. It went on to multi-platinum success, proving that the band’s stripped-down, high-voltage formula was timeless.
