Yes! After the automatic check in, sit is the next thing we teach in classes. When they're sitting, they're not jumping. Sit for everything! Nothing in life is free. And they get a release word (something other than ok because everyone says it and people tend to use it more when they're nervous and something other than praise because you want to be able to praise them without them getting out of the requested position. I like Free, some people say Break, Peace, Take 5, other people make up their own. If you're old school and like ok, just change it to okie dokie as you're only saying that to the dog, right?) so they are clear when they can get out of the sit. Will fwd to my students .
