How did I spend my Saturday night? I visited a Chai night in Riverside. The special event is a collaboration between newbies Mauza Main Street Deli and Dude Patti and takes place every Saturday night through the month of September.
While all the aunty’s and uncles were catching up on who’s graduating and getting married, I learned how to make a traditional cup of chai. It takes good ingredients like organic milk and cardamom, and a good amount of patience.
After I finally got my chai and paratha, I had to get a few New York style deli sandwiches too.

During my visit to this event, I purchased the sandwiches from Mauza at regular price. The chai and paratha were comped by Dude Patti. This arrangement was not discussed prior to my visit nor was it a requirement for this Spotlight video.
