Asa big girl my self, I definitely would've just laughed that comment off. First, she's 14. Second, she ain't wrong! It feels to me like OP's skin is far too thin, this seems really over the top for an grown adult to be this upset about something a young teen said to her.

I think banishing may have a bit harsh. Maybe a gentle yet firm talk, with your daughter present. I dont consider it a bully issue, but I can see how unchecked behavior could across that way, if it continues. It did seem like a light-hearted comment with no ill intent. Some children arent taught about how a simple, innocent comment could really hurt someone's feelings. You are the adult, just be a good parent! Sometimes we make knee-jerk decisions because how we were hurt. This might have been oneof them. â¤

As a big woman, I would have been a little offended but I wouldn't have said anything, just laughed it off awkwardly. I wouldn't have "banished" them over something like that. I wouldn't be offended because it is a fact, if you're big, you're big, but I do find it a little rude saying that if you don't know someone. People can be big for other reasons, not just from eating good. I'm an example of that. I have severe asthma, bad enough that I have a personal breathing machine and 2 inhalers I carry with me at all times. I'm also anemic which I found out last year due to getting covid that left me hospitalized for a month. Hypothyroidism is something I found out in high school. These are not excuses for me being big, but it's extremely hard to lose anything as it feels like everything is against me. The only form of exercise I can do is work and walking, but it leaves me out of breath and exhausted for long while. Anyway- sorry didn't meant to rant there, but it just seems OP was a bit too sensitive. She should have learned to deal with it by now if shes been big for a while.

Not the ass because the daughter's friend should know her place as a child and be respectful. If you don't put your foot down they will be snickering about you behind your back while visiting your daughter, embarrassing your daughter and putting your daughter in a weird position.
