Why can’t the media just give it straight like this guy? I was thinking two people were alone in space running out of oxygen and food.

“No, there’s other people that they can go play with.”
Idk why the Astronauts going to different modules to play is so funny to me lol

Thank you for clearing that up! The way it's being reported I honestly thought that they were alone, which is how every sci-fi horror movie begins. Now I'll think of it like, "What would you like for supper tonight?" And they can choose the restaurant they have a hankering for. My worries have been banished😊

Love how he's just answering my questions before I ask them. And informing me of things I should've been asking about.

“Space is routine.” Thats a wild statement to be able to make.

This was more informative than a lot of articles that keep coming up. Headlines keep making it seem like they are alone up there.

I get that these folks are separated from their friends and family, and that can't be easy for them or their friends or their family. But they probably spent a good chunk of their lives working to get into space. And now they have to spend extra time up there doing what they worked so hard to get to do. I bet the disappointment isn't as great as, "stranded in space" makes it sound.

Neil never gets bored; just starts a conversation with himself like this.

Thank you. Every time I hear about them I was so scared for them and angry about how they weren't being taken care of. Your message gives great peace

Regardless of their ‘strandness’, it remains a shame the fact that Boeing could not bring them back safely as programmed after receiving loads of resources and taking much longer than promised to develop a capsule - the same Boeing that has seen their planes falling from the sky. Yes, the astronauts are safe because they ditched the sinking boat and will get a ride in another spacecraft. That’s what’s causing so much stir - how/why could this happen.

I am an educator at the Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Since this has become a story I am constantly explaining that they are not “stranded.” They have the necessities to live, they have tasks they’re completing, and they have company. They will come home, it’s just a matter of time. I hate that the media used the word “stranded.” It makes people think they’re looking out the cupola screaming at earth.

"Space is routine.. right now."
How ominous

this is more like missing your train; you're "stranded" and it will take a hot second for the next one going that way to come around. Not the comfiest thing in the world but you aren't in imminent danger. The main difference is it's way smaller and you couldn't go outside even if you wanted to.

Cool take.
They were supposed to be there for less than a week; now they’re not coming home until possibly next year.
Go to the airport for a flight that leaves in a few hours, then have them tell you that you’re now stuck there for a month due to a malfunctioning plane.
Oh, and you can’t leave the airport or have your family visit you.
Neil… sometimes (a majority of the time) you really need to work on your egocentrism and see the bigger picture that affects others.
Strange that needs to be said to someone of your standing.
Give Boeing the discredit they’re due.
