If you pronounce every single letter in the word "Toronto," you're probably not Canadian. Most Canadians--and definitely Ontarians--don't pronounce it the way it is written.

Maybe if you live IN or around Toronto

I've literally never seen someone say it like that and I have lived in Canada my entire life

Hi, Canadian citizen here, born and raised in the city of Toronto. I have only ever said the full word (maybe cut out the second t in a mumble) and a vast majority of the people I've heard pronounce it the other way are from elsewhere in Ontario.

As soon as it came out of my mouth I realized!
You can also do another version of this game in French to know who's from Quebec! Ask them to pronounce Montreal

Ive only ever heard ppl from toronto (and the very close surrounding areas) pronouncing it as "toron-o"

Im born and raised canadian (across canada, actually). I have lived in multiple areas in ontario (and outside of ontario, but not many ppl have reason to talk about toronto in NS/BC), and rarely have i heard this pronounciation (and NEVER the "tron-a" pronounciation)
Niagara/haldimand-norfolk area, North Bay area, and even Oshawa (not really that far from toronto)? Ive only ever heard "toron-o". Like, just dropping the hard "t". Although there are plenty of canadians that still pronounce the T.
