I'm surprised that German isn't among the top 2 languages spoken in Pennsylvania, especially since the state has its own distinct dialect, Pennsylvania Dutch. Similarly, I'm from Ohio, where my family still speaks a little German despite our roots in America going back many generations. What surprises me even more is that Spanish is reportedly the second most spoken language in states like Pennsylvania and Ohio—yet I've literally never heard anyone speaking it in Ohio.

You skipped Hmong in MN which is the most interesting fasho. It’s an indigenous Vietnamese language. There were only a few communities that the US helped escape after the Vietnam war and they were almost all relocated in MN. The same is true for Somalians after their government collapsed.

For those wondering “what the heck is up with Illinois?” The only place in the world that has more native Polish speakers than Chicago, Illinois is Warsaw, Poland.

I speak arabic and english

But what i think is cool, is that my mum can speak a little dongolawi along with arabic and english, (she doesnt speak dongolawi that well, but she can hold a basic conversation and can understand a lot of it, and the reason i think its cool is because its an endangered language with only 30,000 native speakrs)

Fun fact: the french speakers in new england and the french speaking creole/cajuns are the same peoples historically.

Cajun is just a variation of "Acadian", and im a little shocked that americans dont know about the history of the french language in the united states like this guy keeps saying "because Quebec" but thats not actually it.

The sheer amount of Portuguese you hear in Massachusetts is honestly insane lol it's basically little Brazil at this point (or little Portugal if you're in the fall river area)

Always find the French speakers in Northern New England fascinating. A recent governor of Maine grew up in the state as a monolingual French speaker and there’s plenty but those communities are REALLY tucked away.

As a Minnesotan, I have no clue what our language is if you could tell me that would be great. Seriously what is it, I expected some Nordic language but I am so confused.
