Is delayed cord clamping on your birth plan? If not, I bet you'll want to add it! This simple act allows billions of red blood cells, stem cells, and other vital substances to flow into your newborn, boosting their health for life.

How long should you wait?

At 1 minute, baby gets 50% of the cord blood.
At 3 minutes, baby gets 90%.
Around 5 minutes, baby gets all the necessary fluids.

The benefits are incredible: lower anemia rates, more oxygen, essential stem cells, and lifesaving advantages for preemies. Plus, all wild mammals naturally do this!

So, why not follow nature's lead? Delayed cord clamping is evidence-based and hugely beneficial for your baby's new life on land. Don't miss out on this natural boost!

I delay for a minimum of 20mins, my babies are always so red, and I am sure this is because they have all their blood ❤

What about the higher risks of jaundice if you delay cord clamping? Is that something to be concerned about?

Sounds a bit like chickens. Their blood circulates around the eggshell and must be pulled into the chick before hatching.
