When I worked for a dealership, we loathed getting evs. Not because they were EVs. But they would have strange problems, like a Tesla staying on even with a proxbox. They would return when their true battery health started showing. We had a 2010s Ford Focus E that literally had 40 miles left of the 150 mile original battery life. When I drove it to the transporter, that few hundred feet around the building. It dropped from 40 to 15.
They are also tough sells, they sit and rot and waste away. People touch em sure. But then they will go and grab a Cherokee or something cheaper than the large pricetag.

What I have found as of late. Despite dealers having a plethora of new and pre-owned vehicles sitting, they are NOT reducing prices at all.
In fact, I have been watching a couple of vehicles for months now and two of them have INCREASED their prices for 2024.
One is a Porsche 911 that the dealer has had for 9 months. It went up $2,200 a week ago. All the while Porsche 911 prices are tanking.
I didn’t realize pre-owned and brand new cars/trucks got more valuable the longer they sit on lots.
I know I can hear the daily depreciation in my garage occurring with my vehicles.
