a lot more sofiticated than any I've built. I would suggest moving the lower hatch up a couple of inches and leaving a layer of ash in the bottom to keep the embers from burning out the bottom. Caution: if it's used in a place where it gets rained on often, then clean out all the ash or the bottom will rust out.
