It really is a good thing Caitlin is so strong mentally and physically. If she just walked away from the WNBA, you'd see a sudden shift back to the norm, empty seats, no revenue and implodes in on itself. Average viewership for 2023 was around 400,000 last year and for the first time they have touted viewership triple to 1.4 million. WNBA themselves stated this was due to the 'excitement brought to the game by Caitlin Clark'. Caitlin has garnered a fan base at numbers that rival many of the teams as a whole. She had become the face of the WNBA with her abilities as well as the way she treats fans. Signing autographs and talking with her fans and causing her to be late for a team press conference after a game. She garners the kind of buzz in basketball, not unlike her male counterparts.
