Stella is a giant narcissist, she wanted Stollas dead because of her pride and the control over his life like during their marriage. Stella is furious because Stollas is her ball and chained punching bag, a symbol of her status and power, who dared to cheat on her with the lowest of the low in her eyes. She believes that he's a useless husband so she uses his status and money to have parties showing off to others and make fun of him to boost her ego. She's like a tick feeding off him and causing him pain because if he's going to be such a worthless husband she might as well amuse herself. The cheating probably cut her ego too close to her core, probably thinking, 'you'd rather sleep with hell's trash than your own wife who had to do all the work and had their child'. Stella is also one track minded so once she feels strongly about something she wants it done til it happens. So their daughter won't be on her mind during all of it since Stollas is the only one she wants to get revenge on. She probably just sees her as an bystander in the whole thing. To Stella nothing else matters but what she wants.

Im pretty sure Stella never cared about Octavia in any way, not just cuz she referred to her as “one egg that fell out of her” in “The Circus”, it’s also because She never once thought about how Octavia would feel if Stolas actually died. It just feels like an “obvious but foreshadowed” type of thing to me.

I really wish they wrote Stellas character better and gave her some depth. She can still be a good villain while also not being the blandest character ever.

Stella never cared about Octavia which is why she just straight up says she managed to have an egg pop out of her when gossiping with her friends about Stolas.
