60% of your income goes to taxes. There is a payroll tax of 15% Federal, 5% state, 7.65% FICA, and FUTA tax. Then there are sales, gas, property, registration, and other fees. If we lower taxes, people would have more money. The city and state need to make wiser investments and receive better ROI. We do want more tourists and outside investors. All of this starts with the state and city. Hold my beer. I got this.

Years ago, on two different occasions, my husband and I stayed in an apartment in Maui up on a hill in the first level of a citizen’s home. It was clean but nothing fancy, and only $75 a night. We hardly ever spoke to the owners, who were very quiet and so were we. We managed our own food and transportation and enjoyed our time. Renting is the perfect way to visit a beautiful place. You enrich the natives directly, but don’t buy up large pieces of property that you only visit once a year, removing it from native use and raising prices so they can’t continue to live on their own island.

Ai's response to this question is: "If the influx of people from the mainland were to slow down or stop, it could reduce the demand for housing in Hawaii and help to stabilize or even lower housing prices. This could make it easier for local people to find affordable housing, especially in areas that are currently experiencing the most severe housing shortages. However, it's worth noting that there are other factors contributing to the housing crisis in Hawaii, such as limited land availability, strict zoning laws, and a lack of affordable housing options. Even if the influx of people from the mainland were to stop, it's unlikely that these underlying issues would be fully resolved overnight. Therefore, while reducing the number of people moving to Hawaii from the mainland could help, it may not be a comprehensive solution to the housing crisis."

People saying that if Hawaiians want smaller government and less taxes that they should vote republican have no actual idea of Hawaiians nor the republican party...
Hawaii isnt a blue state because "clueless rich ppl moving in vote blue" but because most native Hawaiians vote blue.
Many representatives of the republican party and many of its followers love to claim they like smaller government when there's plenty of proof most republican politicians dont commit nor support of smaller government, if anything bigger government just tailoring to their likes, such is the irony.
This is coming from someone who hates the oversimplified two party system in this country along someone who isnt a liberal...

Perhaps lower the tax burden on Hawaii residents and stop worshipping at the altar of big government.
