Considering modern competitive yugioh has mostly drifted away from vanilla trap cards, despite many have some of then strongest effects in the game, would shifting fiber jars effect onto a trap card still have it be worth of a ban?

It's a pretty cool card in theory, but like most of the jar cards it causes too many issues.
It's a fun card to run in some casual playgroups though, I used to run it in a lot of Plant Synchro decks playing Traditional with friends.
