Oil light on, but the engine sounds fine. No knocking. No clatter. Dosent sound like gravel rolling in a cement mixer.
Guarantee you the oil sening unit is just bad. Neon's & PT Cruisers were notorious for oil sending units going bad and making the oil light come on. The car itself is not worth saving but if it still runs and drives, the engine and trans are worth saving. The interior looked to be in pretty nice shape too. I'd stick it in the yard for a parts car b4 just crushing it. But, that's just my opinion.

I remember when the first ones came out and they were still actually in the cool neon colors, hence their name Neon. Then they started making them just in the regular colors. I remember the neon colors caught everybody's attention and made them want to buy it when they were at car shows and stuff, but yet everybody wanted regular colors instead anyway.

the manual rear, electric front is the most common thing eve. opel/vauxhal did it, fiat did it, toyota and basically everyone else did it. they wanted you to buy the car even if you didn't have a big budget, how? buy doing stuff like this. back then, they actually allowed you to choose what you wanted fitted, now you have to choose between different packets, get what you didn't want togheter with what you wanted. i just want fog lights, i don't care about the roof rails

The windows aren't ridiculous, it makes sense. This car comes from a time when manufacturers actually tried to offer affordable entry level cars for the masses.
