Can you please talk about the confederate flag from the perspective of a White Supremacist perspective? They like to argue that it doesn't mean White Supremacy, but we don't believe it.

Know how I celebrate my German ancestry? By reading German books, eating sauerkraut, drinking beer...and denouncing white supremacy. And by not whitewashing Nazism, and not denying the bad parts of history, but definitely not celebrating those, either. And most of all, by honoring and remembering the Germans who stood up, like August Landmesser or Martin Niemöller, against fascism. One thing I don't do, however, is "white pride" anything. Because at one point in history (we're talking Ben Franklin era here), Germans weren't considered "white"!

"It's hard to recognise your hate" no truer words ever spoken. It is so very hard to understand our own biases or our own distorted beliefs and understandings. It takes courage to look deeply at ourselves, and our upbringing. Courage and a willingness to question...you are one of those people, incredibly impressive. I salute you, bless you, and hope your words can reach opened minded, and open hearted others.❤❤❤

One of the highest virtues is to admit that you were wrong. It takes a lot of courage and many never break out of it. Thanks for being a good example!

I'm so glad you're speaking about this so openly. I'm sure there are many women like you who need to see there is a way out.

Victory red lipstick. Women in Allied countries during World War II wore red lipstick because Germany's Nazi Chancellor Adolf Hitler hated it.

It's lovely to see NORMAL hands ... not the perfectly manicured & painted fingernails Erika was eager to display in the creepy casket scene.

You have learned and unlearned so much — it’s really interesting how this religion has been tied to nationalism has been tied to race… and all used to keep people submissive

You opened my eyes a lot about the brainwashing involved in white supremacy because from the north we would be ashamed of the whites down south in Arkansas and South Carolina North Carolina because it signified the KKK and racism and hatred. So thanks again for the education 🙌

Your candor in owning this is more than a timely example of accountability. You're proving that we can all free ourselves if we choose to, and we can all receive redemption if we seek it in good faith. Stories like yours will prove vital perspective for all of us moving forward if we are to mend our country. Respect and gratitude for your unflinching honesty, sister.

One can be "proud of their heritage" and celebrate European roots without being cruel or derisive to others who look different. I was at a highland games style festival in the American upland south over the weekend, and enjoyed all the bagpipes and kilts. But there were people of all backgrounds there who were welcomed and treated with friendship. It's not hard to just not be a d**k to people. In fact, hate takes a lot of energy that could be better spent enjoying your own life. Cortisol is bad for you - choose kindness.

Arkansansan here. Thank you for your courage to speak out. Know that we are fighting in Arkansas. It's wild here... we have the KKK and the gay capital of the South side by side. Hate doesn't win everywhere here
