i was delivering pizza in the quiet part of town at around 4:30 AM. All the sudden a giant Jamaican dude on a bicycle with a boombox strapped on the back blasting this song came rolling by while he was screaming the lyrics from the top of his lungs. Most cathartic experience of my life.

Copeland must surely be one of the the greatest drummers of all time. Masterclass here without a doubt.

This is actually a really accurate, decent and catchy song for the perfect description of dealing with loneliness. It's light hearted and upbeat tune sends a positive and groovy vibe to the listener, unique music at it's finest form.

The best part of being alone is not having to deal with another persons shit and cranking up a good song like this all the way up and feeling better.

Been listening to this track for nearly 40 years and, unlike me, it NEVER gets old. That final drum fill in the fade at the end; pure magic.

Am I the only one who thinks that the bass in this song is awesome? I know it's not fancy, there's no shredding but it builds the vibe up so well. And I love the reggae feel of this song, soothes my soul.

2021. Listening to less than Jake, Science of selling yourself short. And thinking.... Why does this sound familiar? As a 53 yr old musician, I dug back to my roots and found this lost gem!
What a great song! The build with a strong bass rhythm and building vocals, teased with perfect island guitar pops and solo licks.......
OMG! How can anyone be so lonely with this song to lead the way to happiness within!!!!
Cheers Police. You guys guided and and inspired so many musicians. My apologies for losing this one in my memory banks until I was reminded by another group. No disrespect to anyone. I came full circle, and got my playlist updated!

If I could pick one Police song, this would be it: drums, guitars, and vocals are all so identifiably their own. I feel so LONELY, LONELY, LONELY low! LONELY low! I feel so LONELY!!

As an apprentice electrician, wiring a small church in Waterford, my electrician mentor cranking up this song on his radio, mouthing the lyrics with an imaginary mike on the alter....brilliant.
