What about gluing them on top of OLD, grouted traditional tub surround tiles? Circa 1989?
How would you handle the existing soap holder with the little handle/washcloth hangar? Cemented in?
Also a towel bar, both appear to be porcelain, as is the tub.
Would very much appreciate your thoughts?

I would worry about the Silicone between the tiles. Eventually water will find a way behind those tiles.. will be atleast 5 years though. Than once it does mold will set itself up nicely behind the tile and start to make your bathroom smell musty and humid

What are you going to do with the inside of the arch? I was thinking what's the best way, if it would be tiled like inside the shower, or painted like outside. Tiles would be nice but then how do you tile a damn arch lol

I grew up in a home where it was discovered that the previous owners had done something similar to this during the 80’s or perhaps the 70’s. One of the washrooms was being demolished when a huge mold problem was discovered. The previous owners had glued tile to the walls, and finished off by using caulking. There was mold everywhere. So when people come up with new ways to glue tile and also claim that it’s water resistant or whatever is advertised as I never buy that sentiment. The risks of ending up with mold problems are too big.
