1. LUT
As usual, I recommend shooting in LOG profile in your camera, to get the maximum dynamic range. I shot this in S-LOG3, converted REC709 using the LUT in my profile. A good base lut affects all your other adjustments so I recommend using a good one.
2. EXPOSURE
I like my videos slightly darker so I lowered the exposure using Curves and Color Wheel and added a little saturation.
3. MASK
While lowering my exposure the subject became slightly dark, so I used a circular mask to brighten up the area surrounding the subject. (Do not overdo it as it might look fake)
4. EXPORT
Export setting is also important for Instagram reels. I find what works for me personally is exporting in 4K UHD, 80,000bits/s.
