How to install a double subfloor…I’m using a 3/4” (23/32) panel over another 3/4” layer. The second panel has to overlap the seams by at least 2 inches. The APA recommends using 1-1/2” screws so that they don’t penetrate the first panel. Our Gold and Platinum members have access to this full start-to-finish subfloor video series at homerepairtutor.com 👍🏽🔥#carpentry #bathroomremodel #homerenovation

Can this also been done with 18 mm osb3? Or is plywood mandatory?

I installed a double layer subfloor in my upstairs bathroom before I saw this video. I did glue the first layer to the floor joists, and staggered my joints. I also glued between the layers. The floor is absolutely solid with no give or squeaks.

Why did u do double plywood? Because it's underneath a bathtub? I have a giant jetted tub that wore a huge hole through the osb floor that was originally installed thru water damage and vibration over the years. Im going to replace the whole bathroom floor and with plywood instead of osb but should i double it up under the x2 person jetted tub? It is heavy af and the vibrations strong. I want to prevent wearing another hole underneathe for years to come hopefully.
