Ah, back when the game lasted more than 3 turns; it was a fun time. This occurred way back around the time I first started getting into yugioh when I was 16 (I'm 33 now...damn this makes me feel old.) I remember when everyone used Breaker as a staple, and I remember when he got banned. I miss those times. I hope Rush Duel comes to the official OCG because I just can't hang with the way the current Yujgioh TCG operates, but I really enjoy the new Rush Duel, it's fun.

Fun fact, a similar engine to Breaker was just now limited in Duel Links.
Basically you would use Magistus Endymion as your normal summon, then you would use its effect to equip itself one of 4 Magistus Extra Deck Monsters:
* Artemis would let you go +1 by searching another Endymion then using Endymion's effect to draw and shuffle a card (which would usually be the Endymion you searched).
* Ninaruru would destroy backrow.
* Rilliona could negate a monster.
* Vahram would let you destroy a monster non-targeting during the Damage Step.
It basically became a 1 card toolkit for any deck that didn't need its normal summon or many extra deck slots. Which was abused by BLS (yes, BLS) to OTK through almost anything with its busted skill.
After BLS dominated a KC Cup, they ended up Limiting cards from the BLS deck and the Magistus engine. As such, now Endymion is limited 3 and Ninaruru is limited 1 (these mean you can't use powerful cards like Crackdown or Enemy Controller with the engine).

Not to overlook: He was also a lv 4 and Dark Type so even when Synchro and later Xyz came out he had some good additional uses as material.
Breaker was one of my favorite monsters back in the day, almost like one of my personal signature monsters as it was a go-to to fill in any empty deck slots.

And then theres duel links...
Where this card, mixed with the old spell book engine and silent magician would become one of the best decks of the 2019 meta.
Essentially, the skill "light and dark" used to be a free activation skill (now you need to lose 1000 lp), so you could activate it to either trade a silent magician or breaker in hand for the other from deck, which would not only unbrick you, it would also let you pop 1 and negate the other (if it was a spell).
Being able to pop a backrow is huge, even now it still is, which is why endy of magistus was hit (last month?), but back then, silent magician could enter easily because of its effect, and being to negate spells was big back then too.
While the spellbook engine was mostly used to setup a gy that could activate of fate, being able to banish a opponents card.
This deck also used to run kycoo, which would make so your opponent would not be able to banish stuff from gy, which would stop some strategies back then, and you could trade kycoo for silent using the skill, and vice versa.

By the way, hand traps were first introduced with Blackwings. Delta Crow and Black Sonic were not used that much, but they were busted. Black hole and heavy storm for Blackwings, and they were traps that could be activated from the hand when you had 3 or more Blackwings on the field, which was SO easy with that deck
