To answer the question: NO, you aren’t expected to know what you’re doing on your first day in Pilates. We all have to start somewhere!

Here are my top DOs & DON’Ts for people that are brand new to Pilates:

✅ DO Just start!
❌ DON’T let the fear of the unknown or the fear of being a beginner scare you away.
✅ DO find an experienced, caring teacher who will start you on the right foot with a strong foundation.
❌ DON’T feel bad if you feel totally lost at first, the more time you give Pilates the more second nature it will be!
✅ DO start in a beginner level class to build correct technique from the start
❌DON’T skip over the basics, walk before you run & you’ll be set up better in the long run!
