When I was researching dog breeds a couple of years ago I looked at Goldens because they're so generally gentle but the grooming needs and the shedding was a major downside for me. I ended up with a Frenchie, she's a lot like a Golden in the sense of her chill, love of everyone, goofiness and general tolerance but she doesn't shed as much and has less energy.

Funny enough, here in Germany, the Labs are usually goofier than the Goldens. You can find some Goldens that even are used similar to their origin while Labs at the maximum apport plastic bottles and that usually not without destroying them....

Golden retrievers are big old fluffy wuffies, I have to confess though that hair goes everywhere, especially when they like to roll in poo and you have to bath every other day and theres yellow hair stuck in the plughole. I owned one well over 30 years ago when my kids were little, a beautiful gentle boy. I've had to go smaller now, scaled down to a little Patterjack who is just as goofy and a little crazy❤
