By and large, the most restricted food group I see in my clients that struggle with infertility due a missing or irregular period is carbs 🥐

Unfortunately, when it comes to your fertility, restricting carbs may actually be doing more harm than good- for especially if you’re an active woman 🏋🏽‍♀️

Take my client Emily for example:

Emily had been dealing with infertility for almost a year and had experienced two miscarriages before she found me.

She had been diagnosed with PCOS and started restricting carbs and exercising daily.

🎥 Backstory: Emily m had a history of an eating disorder and although she had reached a healthy weight and considered herself mostly recovered, the pressure to eat perfectly and stay thin stuck with her.

The PCOS diagnosis was the perfect excuse to continue to over exercise and restrict food until she realized it wasn’t working.

By the time she found me, Emily was ready for a different approach. After about 10 minutes of visiting with her, I knew exactly why she was struggling with infertility.

🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️ Like many active women with a low/normal BMI, Emily had been misdiagnosed with PCOS.

‼️Fun fact: Close to 50% of women with Hypothalamic Amenorrhea will present with polycystic morphology on an ultrasound and have an 86% chance of being misdiagnosed with PCOS if HA isn’t rule out first‼️

This was exactly what happened to Emily! 🤯

Emily joined the Food Freedom Fertility®️ society and began working through her fears around carbs and weight gain.

🙌🏼 As she began to regularly incorporate carbs back in, her energy levels improved, she could think more clearly, and she was able to finally ovulate on her own and get pregnant!

Emily is now a mom of 2 and has learned that carbs aren’t to be feared and actually play a pretty critical role in hormone balance and fertility 🤰🏼

Does this story resonate with you? Tell me your experience in the comments! ⬇️
