I don’t know… where do you draw the line? I don’t delete stuff but if it’s too flawed it may never see the light of day. I don’t care about how the bokeh balls look. There could be a little motion blur even. If the photo is good enough, I could even deal with a slight misplacement of focus. But part of what makes someone a good photographer is their discrimination. I’m not saying I’m a good photographer.. just one who tries to continually improve. I have so many “close but no cigar” photos where maybe everything was perfect but one important element got cut off, or the expression is great but it’s too soft or there’s some bad overlap or something stupid I failed to notice in the moment. How do you draw the line? Also.. sometimes I think I know what the great photo was, only to come back years or months or weeks later and discover I don’t care for it at all anymore… but some other photo I took that day might really impress me. Self-editing may be the most important skill in photography and one of the least talked about.
