Great advice, I will say something I have found that works well for me is a low stretch call. I tried a lot of cheap calls from the stores starting out and most were stretched so tight that I cannot control sound. Handmade, low stretch calls, especially the ghost cut just come natural to me. If you’re new to it and reading this, just know that loud calling is very rarely your friend. Soft calling, tactics and knowing when to be quiet will give you more Turkey encounters. Well when you use a store bot call their low stretch so best way is find the one cut you can achieve the high end note , it may be the reverse cut that gives you the proper high end note , or the ghost cut or the combo cut if you dont you'll have nothing but rasp

After many many calls I have found a ghost cut works best for me. I still mess around with others but always end up back with a ghost cut.

I started with a bat wing and it's been my ok

One thing that helped me was figuring out my air flow. My air flow comes out left of center so reverse combo cut and batwing work best for me
