So I feel like it's more because you're not plagiarizing anyone or lying, regardless of whether you're off to the side or not. I love this channel; hbomberguy was critiquing people that do something specific and (hopefully) you don't fall into that category, understanding that everyone makes mistakes, a mistake is not intentionally profiting of someone else's work or lying, which I think was the point.

I mean, I feel like the big difference is that while a lot of the other youtube essayists come from just wherever where there is no quality control, you guys clearly come from the academic circuit. That doesn't mean you can't do plagerism, but what it does mean is that the training is going to make you more efficient than people who maybe don't even have a college degree. You know how to operate in these spaces, but a lot of the people who don't (and granted, a lot of people without credentials can do operate sucessfully in these spaces) are going to resort to stealing content.

I remember the first time we talked in the comments, I mentioned a Smashing Pumpkins reference in a video you guys made.
We're cool in our own circles. We are NOT mainstream cool but then again, is the mainstream cool? There's a video idea somewhere in there too... Does becoming mainstream mean that you become too bland in an effort to appeal to everyone?
