This video of V2.3 shows over ten times the power output of Version1 series. There is much room for development but this video shows the potential of this type of heat engine. Also the simplicity of building and having only one moving part makes this a great design. For a look at the inside workings please view V2.1 video.

I like that you can hear the engine quiet down as you start siphoning off power.

Thanks for your interest, and yes you are right that the use of a crankshaft would smooth out power output but because I am still in development phase I have not got to it yet. Should be within next month or so.

Thank you for posting your machine. It is a good output for this engine. I have build a small engine and will make a bigger one with a cylinder perhaps I will use a membrane like you.

Greetings from Germany

Very simple and compact generator! Congratulation!

I wonder if it's possible to build with two opposing power pistons to balance out the vibrating piston weights.

thanks for posting. nice work. some late thoughts. whenever a diaphragm is used, an excursion of a 1/2 inch or less will, usually, give best performance. a linear generator has one big disadvantage. it loads the engine before the low-torque output has been concentrated, at a crankshaft. load at the crankshaft should be matched to the available power; in such a way that engine speed drops no more the 15 percent---a guess. (reduction gearing) cheers

this sort of linear alternator design directly loads the engine at its reciprocating components, and slows the engine considerably.  for increased efficiency, employ a flywheel and crankshaft to smooth the output energy. take power off the crankshaft using a reduction gear, to drive a rotary alternator made for the purpose. This reduces the drop in engine rpm under load.   cheers

Great! Measure current ant voltage passing through those leds.

This is fantastic power output with just a teelight ? Instead of the diy generator you can use a speaker which si basically a linera generator.

The displacer is made of course stainless steel. In one of the videos I do give dimensions for everything as well as disassembled pics. As I remember the main can is approximately 5 inches high and 4 inches wide. I have made many of these and the dimensions do not have to be exacting. The length of the hose can be a bit of trial and error to get maximum output.

video is great. but I can't get mine to work. Would really like a drawing with all dimensions. Maybe using a 24 ounce beer can. Please answer.

If you look at all the videos you can see how it was constructed.

so how many watts do you think it's making?

what are all the dimensions? what is displacer made of?

I like the diaphragm mounting on this. Do you have any cut away drawings? With dimensions?

thanks for posting. good work. but, it should be understood that in order to get maximum efficiency from a reciprocating system, output motion Must be converted to Rotary. because, without this, the system has ZERO conservation of momentum. you may know that there is an optimal design of a generating coil. one. it should be a brooks coil. two. conductor Should be of sufficient size; in the range of 14awg. in order to use smaller wire effectively, a coil must be wound 'in hand'. when more winds/layers of smaller conductor are used, coil impedance when energized is Greater and output CURRENT is limited. but not the volts. cheers googletranslate
