As a therian I do agree that wearing a therian mask doesn’t make you a therian
Neither does doing quads, there are many therians that don’t do quads/cant and/or don’t have masks but they are still therians because it is a belief and an identity (hopefully I explained that right)

the masks actually don't have so much to do with therianthropy, it's just a common thing that famous therian yters use to express themselves, connect with their theriotypes and/or cover their face, (though people who wear cat masks or do quads arent always therians and there's nothing wrong with that)
therianthropy is not accessories or quads, it's an involuntary identity
(also i'm most likely not a therian if anyone wonders)

So like cat masks r literally cheaper too. Someone said I was a Therian (I’m otherhearted btw but I haven’t said that on my channel and I’m a furry which is known) and I was wearing my cat mask in a video.

As a therian, it would be wrong for us to claim a MASK. A lot of us just wear them to feel more connected to our theriotype, you don’t have to be a therian to wear them :3 ❤

Exactly! I’m a therian but i wear dino masks sometimes (not allowed to post them yet) and even when i just go out cosplaying (like a ren faire) with a mask sometimes people say “ITS A FURRY!”

I’m a therian and at first I was like um what? You’re literally having a therian mask on you and calling you a furry? but then I realize that it’s wrong of me to think that bc furry accessories/ furrsonas are really expensive to buy/make and like I kinda get it now that not all people wear fursonas so hope people stop asking if your a therian ;3
