The 'Gammaduwa', also known as 'Devol Madu Shanthikarmaya', is a ritual tradition that invokes the blessings of the goddess Pattini.
Sri Lankans believe 'Gammaduwa' shanthikarma as a ritual to bring peace and prosperity to all humankind and the country.
The ritual is performed from dusk to dawn accompanied by Sri Lankan traditional drums, flamed fire sticks and low country dancing.
This Gammadu Ceremony was held by the Sri Ganegoda Devalaya in Depanama, Pannipitiya Sri Lanka on the 20th of January 2023.
