Im from the Netherlands and my school lunches were: a sandwich with cheese or chocolate sprinkles and water (if i wanted milk, i had to bring it from home in a bottle and almost nobody did that). On some occations you could buy soup for 60 cent (you had to buy coins on monday and use that to pay for the soup)

Here in america, its hyper-processed mystery meat that you can cut with the side of a fork and tastes like it was left in a dumpster for 12 hours in the sun. Plus chewy whatnot and "milk" or "juice" or soda with an absurd amount of sugar that isnt even actual sugar. Gotta love it
