Success from self control is way harder than success from pain.

Success comes from thinking for yourself and then acting on those thoughts. There are some people who won't do one (or both) of those things until they've been through a period of suffering.

We tend to get carried away in stories like this... Arranging concepts to tell a story so that we feel like what we're doing is meaningful. The only relevant principle here is action. And the only question we should be asking is if the actions we perform achieve the objective. Clearly define your objective and then get to performing action, then find some way to see if that action contributes to the objective by finding meaningful feedback. I think that's where people mess up, is they create in isolation without making contact with reality, and then they wonder if what they're doing is actually helping achieve the goal. How we feel about the action, like whether it's painful or not, is irrelevant.

It can be painful getting outside of your fears, doubts, and past experiences.

I agree with you about thinking that’s a lie. I think you’re right. I’m still moving forward doing my best to experience the opposite of pain in order to have success. ❤️ if you’re thinking it, there must be truth to that concept.

It was and is true for me. It depends on the person, what shaped them, their experiences.

For Illustrators (like myself):

What's REALLY painful is putting yourself through hours spent on a drawing, posting it on your social (with hashtags) and receiving no feedback - or EVEN a "pity like" from others who come across it - EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Yet I'm still here, hoping one day for success! ✊️

All u have to do is look around. Success comes to those that are lucky. I personally know at least 30 individuals that success was given to them despite their actions. Its just a dact of life. Its not fair. And nobody ever said it was.

That moment when you realize that humans can adapt to pain and discomfort.

Success comes from where it comes from. It comes from trying to succeed.

I've worked a very horrible and painful job, and did it for 2 years, from 18 to 20 years old, I met a lot of people who have been doing it for 20 years, I've worked with someone that's my father's age.

So I can tell you, success doesn't in anyway come from suffering, it comes from trying to succeed, it goes to the people who try to succeed once, and ended up not giving up.

Now I make more than what those people who didn't try to leave that job makes!

We don't really know anything about the good old planet.

Well, pain is there regardless of success or failure. It's just a different kinds of pain

For a long time we have believed that success is earned only through inflicting pain on yourself. It is certainly not true. There are rich people who started with nothing. But there are those who are given privilege n wealth with just a little hard work. Most royal families in the world would be an example. We don't really live in the ideal world. Korean university graduates became ambitious n wanted to build their own business. They started with just a little n believed in hard work. Tens of thousands of them but just a few successed. Hard work n overcoming lots of pain does not always bring success.

Success at what? What is success? Who decides who is successful? Good luck finding objective truth while swimming in subjective waters.

It’s a lie, I suffered the pain. I was respected for the pain I took. But here I sit 61 years old with a 75 year old body, and the heart attack and 3 stints.

I think that is a lie…positive energy brings success but perhaps you have to go through darkness to reach the light.

Nope. I know several people in my life who had poor childhoods (in their minds, they had plenty to eat) and they are in general risk averse which makes them useless as investors.

Focus and effort... brings success....

Usually that means doing things that arent easy....

Is that painful or gainful?🤔😬
