I have the same issues with the snap-on 80
tooth ratchets. However, The Harbor Freight composite ratchets have been the most reliable.

I feel the same way about snap on now. I stopped buying snap on cause always having to get the tool truck guy to repair all my ratcheting tools. It's annoying started getting gearwrench

Gear wrench ratchets are literally what Matco sells as a rebrand

Go to harbor freight and get an icon.
Yeah, I hate Chinese stuff too but damnit, it at least works.

That sucks. I've broken 3 of my snap on ratchets over the past couple months & have been looking at Matco, love their sockets. I guess the ol' HF special is the one to go for

Sounds like a pure lemon. I use a matco locking flex 3/8 everyday and it hasn't failed me yet.

That's the reason I threw them all in scrap bin and bought all snap on ones.... hell my dad's 1/2 drive snap on 18" he's had since 1968 still hasn't broke... and it's been through hell and I haven't broke any of mine yet I've tried..😅

Same, I don't buy matco. My ratchets are snap on. They pack too much grease in the snap offs and they will bind then too. Most of my sockets are craftsman. I loose alot so they are cheap to replace. The rusty bolt sockets are snapons. They have a tight tolerance to them. Only reason I get snap-on sockets
