WARM UP IS IMPORTANT BEFORE ANY DANCE ACTIVITY. The most basic movements can bring injuries if you are not focused, don’t have proper technique, or your muscles are not ready to move. It doesn’t matter if you do any hair tricks, or a simple arabesque.
Hair movements are NOT dangerous at all if:
Your neck and upper back is warmed up and prepared to be engaged in such activity
You know the proper technique of movements
You don’t over-do your training
Your neck and spine are healthy, without any history of previous injuries.
If all above is YES, then you are TOTALLY FINE!
Don’t be scared of adding a cool hair trick to your dancing. Just make sure, you know what you are doing.
But that principle applies to any dance movements, not just hair flips.
