The audacity to call sayu mediocre...
She's not only a bugdet jean, she can be better in some situations.
Her burst heals A LOT (with enough atk in fact she's more than enough for Furina) she can heal with her skill If she swirls, speaking of swirling she can deal a scary amount of damage with just swirls but you can always throw some investment and she can be a viable dps with that skill, skill witch can also make some easy particles. Oh yeah and obviously, she can use VV witch immediatly increases her value. Not to mention that she's amazing in exploration to this day, only losing for Natlan characters inside Natlan and still winning if you're out of phlogiston!
The only 2 reasons i can think of for you to not use her are:
1- If you wanna do that neiche sunfire thing with bennett;
2- If you're using a plunge dps, in that case you're free to use Xianyun.
Apart from that, she's a good option in almost any team.

Well since i‘m new (or like i played 2020 but never really played it till 2024) and don‘t own much characters, Dori is actually helping me, her burst can heal your characters if near it or it can damage a enemy if a enemy is near it
I also use Thoma for shield cause i don‘t own any defensive characters yet
