Join renowned physicist Brian Cox as he unpacks one of the most groundbreaking ideas in astrophysics: the event horizon. In this captivating talk, Brian explains how the concept of the event horizon β€” the invisible boundary beyond which nothing, not even light, can escape β€” revolutionized our understanding of black holes. He explores how this idea reshaped the way scientists think about gravity, spacetime, and the limits of observation itself. With his trademark clarity and wonder, Brian shows why the event horizon is not just a feature of black holes, but a window into the deepest mysteries of the universe.

OMG!!! I would’ve LOVED this guy as a teacher or a professor. I used to appreciate teachers back in the day that took the TIME to teach in a manner that is understandable instead of sounding like you are reading straight out the curriculum handbook.

Brian Cox could talk anyone into loving astrophysics, his words are commanding and poetic. It's a joy listening to his mind at work he's truly one of the greats of today.

The Radiation is the Stress caused by General relativity trying to understand quantum mechanics, but it is too fascinating to just leave it.

There is microcosmos around us and macrocosmos that is something unthinkable and anprohensable for us at the moment. Somehow, we want to talk and get to know this far away, long distance big question mark, forgetting that all that we have to do is to look deeper in ourselves and surroundings where small is in big and vice versa. It is feeling like, when we need something to do and always leave it for tomorrow not knowing that tomorrow we will be here. Bless you all!

If small body gravity doesn't precede large body gravity, then we live in a magical universe.

I was thinking to myself, "event horizons--just like the problem of telling when our macro-universe crosses over into quantum reality, somewhere around the molecular level," when Brian pinpointed just that!
(I don't think I'm that smart--just made a lucky guess)

Maybe black holes are a kind of recycling center of sorts. Bringing in materials and wiping them clean to send back out to be reused by the universe

🌞 if there are 400 Trillion Galaxies and say our average Milky Way galaxy has about 400 Billion stars; then how many Galatic Galaxies are further away that light cannot reach us?

Gravity works at the present of space time. The singularity is missing space and maybe also time. The singularity this is why not possible

If "Light" is Photons and Photons have No Mass or Weight how can they be stopped by "Strong Gravity"? They have zero mass and rest energy, meaning they only exist as moving particles. They also have no electric charge and are stable particles.
