I would argue that the best part to stay if it were to go to shit in russia would be somewhere remote and isolated like Northern Siberia.
- European Russia would be the fallout world
- The Urals, Far Northern Siberia, The Pacific Russian Coast and in fact all of the coasts hold a strategic military threat, therefore could be targeted
- Far Eastern Siberia is a prime Target towards a Long US-Russia war
- Avoid Oil and Resource rich areas like the Far North and Caucuses because these areas are likely to be targeted to hinder supplies
- the Tran Siberian railway line should be avoided because of its vitality
Overall, I would recommend non major mountains, North Non Coastal Siberia and Far away from anything important. But good luck finding work out here.
