This is what happens when we try and impute our doctrine on Scripture.
We only see what we want to believe.
I am reminded of Justin Peters teaching that our, or was it his, heart is deceitfully wicked when God in Ezekiel promises: I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh,
and in 2 Corinthians 3:3, You are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

The scary thing is there are so many "Name" teachers out there pushing themselves as being great teachers, to the unsuspecting and the gullible instead of expounding the Word of God in context as it is written.

I don't understand what is the point to leave out things from the bible? What point they're want to prove? And I bet, this people are leaving a fairly luxurious lifestyle.

Do the people who follow Melissa Dougherty actually think about what she is saying? There should be uproar from them over this. Very, very poor reading of the bible. Can she be trusted to teach the bible? No, she is just as bad as the extremists she is criticising.

Get rid of the blindness of modern theology, and read the entire Bible, through original intent, and you will not just find prosperity in Job and Paul, but throughout much of the entire Bible. But there is also persecution and trials and tribulations. Those being present do not void prosperity. It's reminiscent of how agnostics trying to convince me that the miracles that I personally went through that made me healed and whole, throughout my physical body and my soul, didn't happen.
