It is a good advice if time is short. But if you have time, thinking through tough problems helps to develop intellect and solve the problem in a whole new way. For me, when i spent time in harder problem after sometime the solution would come as a flash in my mind.

Damn thats the exact what i do!!! After looking at answer i try to understand the logic and after finishing all the problems i take a test after 2-3 days to check the improvement.

Right technique because students don't have too much time to keep thinking to find solutions because they are just students with limited time and not cutting edge researchers. To find solutions to facing challenges require sometimes or take years to sort out. So she is right in her approach. If I am wrong, please correct me.

Doing the maths on your own but the answer gets wrong and then cutting the wrong answer and writing the correct one is the worst feeling

I actually try to dive in any kind of complex problems without thinking about if I would be able to solve it or not. I love the process and I would spend a hell amount of time to solve a single problem. Eventually I somehow manage to solve the math.
