If they won't hear you, find another doctor! I gained weight and couldn't lose. I had always been small and dropped my calories to 800 a day and nothing. Years of feeling awful and uncomfortable in my body being told its just being 40? I finally found a doctor that listened and tested me despite my numbers being considered "normal". The test showed I was absolutely diabetic. Felt so validated! Now down 30 lbs and can sleep and don't need 15 gallons of water a day!❤️ ❤❤❤

It's like that in USA also. Women are told everything wrong is anxiety and sent away.

I’m so sorry. As an RN I say to patients often “you live in your body, not us”.

No medical professional can tell you something you are experiencing- is not occurring. That is not even fundamentally how science works.

If someone ever makes you feel you are unsafe to share, being dramatic, stupid, whatever other horrible thing…never return. Seek alternate care, fight for your body.
It works so hard for you every day! You do deserve it 💕

This hits home, my long term ex in my 20s was diabetic type one, he had to go the ED for high sugars (which were triggered by stress) the young ED doc said, u should learn to eat right. Ummmm he did eat right, a seasoned doctor would know that high stress levels can trigger ketoacicidosis

Yeah, I remember my diagnosis. We went to the hospital to try to get a blood test done when we realized I couldn't eat much all of a sudden (we didn't know how much water I was consuming, largely due to the weather- the amount I was peeing definitely went up but not all that much, considering how much I was drinking). At the hospital, they noted my irregularly high heart rate (120 at rest), but the doctor refused to do a blood test or listen to my symptoms and just said that my heart rate must be due to college stress. Except the only reason I was stressed about college at all was I already missed a week due to my rapidly declining health. Couple days later we went to a different hospital when I could no longer walk to the bathroom without getting exhausted. First thing they did was test my blood sugar and surprise! It was extremely high. Yeah, the nurse wanted to lecture me and my parents about why I wasn't taking my insulin, and then she realized that we had no idea I was diabetic. Stayed in the ICU for a week after that.

Fortunately the doctor who saw me and turned me away a couple months later got sued by the other medical staff at that hopsital for malpractice so, he's getting his dues.

Imagine if someone with like a broken bone goes to that doctor and they say “it’s nothing, GET THE ICE!”

And the test to check your sugars is so simple and easy! He could’ve checked your sugars in less than a minute rather than spending your whole appointment gaslighting you!

I really love my doctor! She's extremely down to earth and always listens before to whatever I want to talk about - sometimes it's been my mental health, other times physical. A good doctor is so important!

My younger brother was so lucky my parents believed him when he said something was wrong.
He had been losing weight which we initially thought was puberty, but he wasnt eating differently and he wasnt growing. I think the main thing is he noticed how often he got up from playing videogames to to refill his huge cup of water or use the restroom.
We ended up catching it really early compared to most people.

I found out I was type one diabetic this past July. My dad always felt bad because we didn’t have the money to take me to the hospital or get me a doctors appointment. He was the first one to notice all of the signs and pick up on them. Around June we moved houses and we finally had money. Then mid July that’s when I found out. I was sent to the emergency room and was in a hospital for about three days. All of the symptoms you mentioned were the ones that I had when we weren’t aware of it. I think it’s good that you’re spreading awareness and letting on some information that could save someone’s life.

Edit: While it’s a personal matter, out financial situation has gotten better. We can afford things I need for my diabetes and we don’t have to worry about most prices of food or hygiene products in stores.

The same thing happened to me & years ago when I got diagnosed and my mom had to ask my former pediatrician to do blood work because she knew it wasn’t just a virus like the doctor suggested(I had been sleeping ALL day for a week, drinking and urinating excessively. So bad that I had to miss school.)

i love that you are both being so authentic. people try to sugar coat everything so they look inhuman on social media, even in funny clips. you're both always so beautiful and having a good time.

I had all the symptoms, and my chart showed that i had been consistently high for a while - it still took my wife reading my chart and pushing it in my doc's face to get her to pay attention.
