There is a group of concepts which can only be interpreted in terms of nesting. They involve such concepts as value, intensity, tension, temperature, and their variants. The closest to this idea is the notion of nested sets for multi-element nesting and ordered sets for single-element nesting. However, neither of them conveys the cognitive sense of the nesting concept. In this video I only discuss the regular forms of nesting, one case of which leads to the notion of numbers and another to logarithms understood as scales. The latter topic will be discussed in a separate video.
