Men are generally not as open to experimenting with silhouette compared to women, so have to find novelty in other ways. I think its a neat accessory, but if it doesnt look like you could actually wear it normally as part your outfit it comes off as an affectation. Tied around a jacket or coat looks especially corny because why would you just remove a middle layer like that. It becomes a scarf with extra steps.

There are fashion moves that are simply silly and this is one of them. A scarf is meant to be worn round the neck, there are so many wonderful options out there, from the silky and elegant to the heavy tartan numbers.

As a kid I did that and pretended I was Superman. As an adult it’s unnecessary , looks like a cape !

This may be like how u have stigma from the past regarding shorts in the city or wearing certain types of shirts. I personally never liked the ties sweater look. Whether around your waist or neck. Since I was young, never been a fan! 🤷🏾
