I feel like weâve been talking about the arming teachers with guns debate for years. Oh, wait we have! We did a whole video about this 4 years ago, and itâs still relevant. This is really nuts. Its not fair to ask teachers to take this responsibility. Its not smart to fill a school with guns that students WILL get access to. Not every teacher will be as diligent and careful as you should be with a firearm.

I think teachers should be given the choice to carry, but, if so, they then should be required to go through training with police.

I think this COULD be a good idea, except that it would be a terrible idea to put more guns in schools which may introduce the possibility of them getting in the wrong hands and being lethal. However I think that is is a fantastic idea to arm teachers, but not with guns, but instead with non-lethal weapons, and it should be a variety of not lethal weapons so school shooters can't just prepare for one type of weapon. I think that with modern technology there must be some type of non-lethal weapon that can be just as effective as a regular gun and a lot cheaper. yes there will be times when these non-lethal weapons get miss-used by teachers or students, but if they are non-lethal then at least you don't have to worry as much about deaths.

I belice a background check on at least a few very qualified individuals of the school teachers should be armed to lowe the risk of something crazy, that itâs safer and protects the students

If police and security guards are allowed to come into schools with gun, it seems that teachers that have proper permitting and training should be allowed to as well.

That means a teacher would have to be responsible for 30+ of the community's children a day, acting not only as an educator but a nurse, parent, emotional support, mandated reporter, caretaker, plus a live gun that they might have to use on someone they know???? ALL WHILE THEY'RE BEING PAID WELL BELOW THE AVERAGE SALARY TO DO ALL OF THAT WORK?

Jesus I donât even know, I just donât think that arming teachers should be the first move you know? Like out of all the issues that are interwoven that make up the mass shooting crisis, I donât think this is the first step that should be taken.
Not even to mention all the teachers I had growing up who ended up getting arrested for grooming, or the teachers who had mental breakdowns at school and flipped desks at the students, I just donât think that 24 hours of training is enough to do the proper evaluations to see which teachers should and should NOT have firearms.
