The stereotype of "white people food" is pretty arbitrary though. For some reason, white cuisines like Cajun, Italian, German or French are not considered, i guess because all of them use lots of spices and therefore conflict with the bland English stereotype. Also, black American food like soul food is almost identical to the typical fare of white Southerners

âSoul Foodâ in the 60s and 70s, which was considered âBlack foodâ was basically just âpoor people foodâ here in the south, regardless of color. My dad grew up eating the same stuff in the depression. I asked a friend in Manhattan, and he said that during the black migration to the north, diet naturally changed for the better, but eventually after a couple generations, some people got nostalgic for the foods they ate in their childhoods, which white culture up north had never eaten, or had eaten so far in the past that all memory had been forgotten, and the white folks associated this weird stuff with black folks, considering it exotic and weird and racial. Or so he said.

It is an extremely annoying and ignorant stereotype where mass produced americanoid slop completely kills off hundreds of european cultural foods. Eastern European food is heavy on spices, French is greatly savoury, Meditteranean food will be forever better than whatever "well seasoned" trash is trendy among yt shorts cooks. The second you try to pass of chicken fried in processed shit like takis as "good eats" and add so many seasoning dry powders to your sauce until it has consistency of wet cement is the moment you have zero right to spit at any cuisine.

As someone from Europe I think itâs Interesting how the US uses the term âwhiteâ. It seems to be mainly a code for Anglo-Saxon (Protestants). It might have made sense in an US context, but to think that Italian/French/Greek/Hungarian cuisine could be summarised as âwhite foodâ seems kinda wrong. The term is sooo unspecified and quite misleading

in the US northern âwhite people foodâ and southern âwhite people foodâ are two distinctly different things, in my experience lol
