Even if we had the original copies, skeptics would make sure to come up with other reasons to doubt their validity. No matter the evidence, some will always find a reason to doubt.

No because he is an honest historian and an honest historian goes by the evidence. He would not if he were honest dismiss the original manuscripts if they violated his personal beliefs.

Having the originals would do nothing to further prove the veracity of the stories and words contained in the originals. Just because you have the origin gospel of Mark, that does not mean that the contents that that original contains are true or accurate. Bart would still have all of his problems with the stories themselves that he has today.
