You completely missed the extremely important point that hes not "looking into the distance" he turned around because he heard something and sees that its the portal that is used in the multiverse as shown in the reflection in his eyes and hes smiling because he found a way out and this as you said hints at a possible return in future cameos, joining the MCU or a solo film entirely.

So that was definitely a certain circle that can teleport people. And I like how the portal kind of made his eyes seem just a bit red, just a little more comic book accurate. It was a really nice touch

He freaking killed it, I had straight pie in my face because years ago when they announced him as Gambit, I was heck no. But when I was seeing the movie I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I definitely forgot about his dancing background. AMAZING performance. I'm going to be looking for a Gambit statue now

The only thing I don't like is the lack of his black and red eyes. I understand it's hard to change an actors eye color and wearing contacts for that long can be really uncomfortable but it's such a big part of Gambits character since it's the entire reason his parents abandoned him as a baby. I'm curious how they're gonna go about that in any future movies

I love the original costumes in Deadpool like the yellow wolverine’s suit and this version of gambit. This movie was so good!
