How is this racist??? Sheā€™s literally just protecting herself and her business from scammers. Sheā€™s had multiple scams from that country.

I'm an Algerian and this is not racist. It's not her fault that sadly, most people buying from this specific country are scammy. If she does open her shop to it, she will loose money (as if she hasn't already...).

The fact that she even proposed to be contacted privatly is also super sweet of her.

If you've never had any real orders from Algeria, then who is complaining?? People just like to stay mad.

I'm sorry but guys lets be forreal. First of all, it wouldn't be racist but xenophobic so lets get our terms right. Secondly, her decision to stop shipping to Algeria šŸ‡©šŸ‡æ is not in any way xenophobic since she has a proven track record of being scammed with orders from this country.

Its unfortunate however treat it like shops which only ship to certain countries. You dont call websites who ship only to the US and UK racist/xenophobic. This is the best decision she can make at the moment and if you're not from Algeria and you feel so passionate, give your address to those who want to order from there so they can get the items through yo

I think people need to keep in mind that SHE IS A SMALL BUSINESS. A big make up company like say Sephora, can eat a 3k hit. Multiple times. She canā€™t. Itā€™s not racism, itā€™s smart service. If all the orders from that country have so far been big orders and also fraudulent I would understand her choosing to not fulfill those orders at this time. Clearly no legitimate orders have come from anyone in that country yet so she isnā€™t even alienating any loyal customers from there. When people use the saying ā€œthis is why we canā€™t have nice thingsā€ itā€™s for the individuals doing crap like that. She wonā€™t have a brand if she canā€™t protect herself. This is unfortunately what she needs to do.

As an Algerian I will say: some Algerians have absolutely no shame and scams like this are quite common. And I fully understand why you wouldnā€™t want to ship to Algeria because you know all the orders are scams.

Buying things for cheap and reselling things is very common, both in Algeria, and all around the world. It just so happened that these ones targeted NekoYanin, and possibly other businesses are Algerian, and I donā€™t think we should be getting all mad.

And itā€™s crazy to me how people who arenā€™t even Algerian are getting so riled up by this. They clearly donā€™t know how Algerians can be, so I donā€™t think they should be talking smh šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€

my bank (a very small bank, not like... chase) once told me i couldn't place any online orders with businesses in the UK for the time being bc a bunch of scams were happening there. they weren't being "racist" towards the mf UK, they were looking out for themselves and me.

I'm glad she offered to let Algerian people contact her to order. I hope that rings true and that Algerian customers can still support her :]

When it is literally EVERY ORDER, then you have to do something. And you even gave legit customers a way to still buy from you.

It is not fair to paint you as a racist because scammers are trying to make you go bankrupt.

I'm algerian and i dont think its racist cause you're just protecting your business, even tho I want your makeup so bad. And i already have seen your product in some shops. So you're definitely not racist I would do the same if I was you

If every. Single. Order. From that area is a scam then she is fully within her right to deny orders to that area. She has not had a single legitimate order from there yet so i dont blame her for just flat out refusing

To those who are chronically online, you need to step away from your phone to go touch grass and or read a book. I swear, some people online get mad over anything without fully thinking it through before saying ignorant stuff like that.

The way I see this situation is if someone's lemonade stand keeps getting destroyed in one place, then they shouldn't sell there anymore regardless of the good people who may buyā€”there is too much risk.

Girl, no, it's a tough spot for those who really want orders from there but if you're giving them the option to contact you for orders then I don't see why anyone should have a problem with this. Sometimes one bad apple can ruin it for the bunch. Some businesses choose to not sell their products in specific parts of the world for reasons of shipping or taxes because they don't want to screw over everyone else and it's not fair to label you racist for something that fraudulently happened to your business. I personally would be sad if the same happened here but I'd understand completely, it's a business at the end of the day and you need to make money out of it.

One thing I am for sure, the ones getting offended about this arenā€™t Algerians.

In twitter in the latino community we had a scandal when the Encanto movie came out, because an artist didnā€™t make the characters latino enoughā€¦ the artist was hispanic, living in an hispanic countryā€¦ the ones cancelling the artist lived in USA only spoke english and this hasnā€™t happen just once, it has happen many times for latinos, for japanese, for anyone outside USA.

Ignore those comments, they are toxic and just want to feel good about themselves. Algerians arenā€™t the ones complaining, I am sure of that.
