Here in Australia they have a sat nav designed for 4wd. Brand is called HEMA. It also display and navigate 4wd/offroads terrains. Maybe good for adv bikes.

I use an XT2. Used a 665 and 550 before that. I did recently just get Garmin to exchange out a new unit because the touch screen would stop responding to input for hours. Haven't tested the replacement on a trip yet, but seems good so far. FWIW, it still worked, but you couldn't load a new route, switch to a different view or screen or anything involving using the screen. If a route was loaded, it still navigated just fine.
After 15 years of using Garmin GPS devices, I'm still a fan. I even gave my XT2 the name of "Garmina." I talk to her while I ride and I scold her when she says that restaurant was going to be on the right, but it's ACTUALLY on the left. To be fair, Garmina is nearly always right. The interface is great and I'm definitely happy with it.
Plus, my phone is safe in my pocket, so if something ugly happens, it won't get mangled because it was on the handlebars. That ignoble distinction will fall upon Garmina. Sorry babe, I will try my best to avoid letting that every happen!

I went through 3 of these within 5 months before Garmin gave me a full refund. Worst was the unit's horrible routing, including trying to send me on a 46 mile route when I was only 8 miles from my destination via forest roads as verified by my cousin's GPS. Garmin didn't even offer any explanations or tips when I contacted them, but agreed to a full refund. The zumo 396LMT-S I replaced the XT with has no such routing issues.

I bought an unlocked, Kyocera DuraForce Pro 2 (E6920) Android phone for $100 USD. I'm using OSMand+ as my nav app, which I really like. The Kyocera is both waterproof and ruggedly designed. I definitely would recommend this setup as an alternative to a pricey Garmin nav unit.

Thanks for the video. Does the XT2 use the same mount as the XT1? Exactly which windscreen extension is this that you're using? Looks like a Puig, but I think there are a few different choices. Thanks!
