May I ask for you to clarify your term of "whoops" is it the knocking sound against a tree, that is audibly heard? Those footprints look pretty fresh. Someone commented it's probably a youngster hitting the tree as warning call for its parent(s). You're leaving the area was probably a good idea. Those thudding sounds were pretty loud.

What exactly were the dimensions of that print?
Without seeing a tape measure beside and across tje print I always doubt. A cloth tape measure only weighs a couple of ounces.
Plus you can get heel to toe distance measured.

Looks like a brown haired Yerin track, one of the tribes of Bigfoot. Looks like a young ones play area stick structure too. Sometimes you can find play evidence under or near small structures like that. To get all the whoops, and knocks that close to you. Means you are very near a nest system, or hunting area. Next time that happens to you, cough loudly. A coughing sounds means, do not attack me, I am not hear to harm you. The knocks, and whoops will stop. Verbally explain to them why you are there. If they start whooping, and knocking again, cough again. It usually take 5 or 10 minutes to get them backed down. However, if you hear trees being snapped off, or pushed over. Politely, and quietly move out of the immediate area. If you stay to long a young one near you may whistle at you, and shake a bush branch. That is a final warning before big brother, or sis comes at you. If you hear a roar, it's the father of the group warning you to move out. If you hear what sounds like a moan, it's an elder male camped at the front entrance of their bed system. Hope this info helps you out.
